So the weather has been beautiful. We have been playing outside in the afternoon. Girls and I have taken several walks too.
Last week I was able to go to Madrona Fiber Arts Winter Retreat with my good friend Beth. It was so very nice to have a few hours to our selves. We hardly ever get to go any where with out kids in tow. We were able to stroll thru all of the booths and see the wares. It was super nice to be able to just take our time. I have to say I was a bit surprised to see all of the local Seattle stores that were set up and selling. I declined to shop at any but one that had a super cool bag that I couldn't resist. There were some great works of art there that are way way beyond anything that I have yet to attempt. There were also some super pricey yarns like quivit, buffalo, camel/silk, you get the idea. I didn't get any of those as they were way out of my range. I did get a few things from a nice lady from the bay area. Her online store is opening soon. You can find it here. I got a few things from them and can't wait to knit them up. I will post photos of all of my stuff soon, I promise.
I did manage to finish a set of baby booties and a hat for a new baby that is arriving today. I finished them at least a week ago. The mama just gushed about how it was so nice to get something handmade. It was really nice to get such high compliments on such a small gift. She told me she would send me photos as soon as she could get to it. I forgot to take a photo before I gave them to her. I also have another friend that is due in 8 weeks so her baby stuff is all knit up and ready to go. I got a request to knit a baby sweater for a first grandbaby of a gal that I go to bible study with so that is next in the long line of projects. I think I can get it done in a few days and will be able to give it to her in a week and a half when we meet again.
I did decide to make the Cherry Garcia neck warmers out of the beautiful Malabrigo chunky. I have one finished and the other one is 1/3 of the way done. The yarn knits up just beautiful and it feels good on. Husband even likes it! I hear that there is a new Malabrigo yarn out that is 50 percent silk 50 percent wool. I can't even imagine how soft it would be.......need to find some.
I had another request for slippers that I just was able to give as a gift last night. She had requested either socks or slippers. I opted for slippers and found a super easy pattern. I have to say they turned out super nice but yet again didn't get a photo. She promised to photo them on her feet and send to me. I have also finished 2 pairs of fingerless mitts and working on the 2nd two pairs. Personally I would rather do the mitts as they have some flavor to them and are not just knitting every row like the slippers. The slippers did turn out nice though.
Needless to say..........there is quite a bit of knitting going on contrary to my title. I just haven't sat down since Monday to knit so I guess it feels like forever. Husband will be gone in Wash DC next week so I will have a ton of time to knit in the evenings after the girls go down. Maybe I can finish my Cherry Garcia and the baby sweater and the mitts!! Lofty but I may just be able to do it. Then I need to get going on a few other projects.
No photos today sorry :(

Not very satisfied....but getting better as we speak!
Feelin stuck right now. I really want to knit this baby bonnet for a friend but everything I knit it up in is just not workin for me. I am going to go thru more of my stash tomorrow and see if I can find a different yarn to work with. Or at least some new options.
On other project news. I have successfully completed a pair of baby booties for baby and going to start another pair tonight.
Last weekend we headed over east of the mountains to do a little skiing. Kids were at sitters house and we had a blast on the slopes. I just took up skiing last year and love it. I did bring my knitting bag with me so I was able to finish up some more of the fingerless mitts and start more too. I also happened to head into a cute little town that had a great yarn shop. I could have spent at least an hour or more in there touching, looking, and smelling (yes I smell yarn) the yarn. With two kids in tow that were hungry that wasn't an option. I did pick up some baby yarn Plymouth Oh My. There was also some chunky Malabrigo that I couldn't resist. Now if I can come up with some projects for them all will be well. And I think I have just found the perfect pattern. It's called Cherry Garcia.....
I think it's going to be perfect!! And for the super soft baby yarn some more booties......
So the next event that we have to look forward to is the Madrona Fiber Arts Festival. I did not register for any classes but will head down for a few hours to see the market. It's always fun to go see what else is out there. I am going to get a babysitter for the kiddos and head down with a good friend of mine who is well versed in yarn. You can find her blog here. She is one of my closest friends and since she owns the LYS that I go to it should be even more fun!
I am behind in making a present that I should have started a month ago. I had a special request for some slippers.......hmmmm. Not really something that I make. She said socks would be fine too. Her birthday is right around the corner so they may have to be a quick knit or late. I am shooting for the quick knit right now. I am also thinking about making a lap blanket for a good friend of mine that has been in and out of the hospital lately. So as always many more projects than I can work on in a day and then there are my responsibilities like teaching, laundry and feeding my family.....and cleaning on occasion. Tomorrow is marathon laundry day. Wish me luck. Too bad I can't fold and put it away and knit at the same time.
Happy knitting.

Frogging my projects
I am happy to report that I finished husbands scarf. Same as the pink one that I made for myself but in a gray tone. So yet another quick project done. I will post a pic soon.
On to the title of my blog. Frogging. It's when you have to rip out your project and start over.......ripit ripit. Get it?? Knitting humor. So I went to my LYS today and that's just what I did. I had started one project and picked up another last night. Both were not working up the way that I thought they should. So I took them both in to get some advice. I thought there was a possibility that I could have been wrong and misinterpreted the pattern. Not the case. So off of the needles they came. I need to cast back on for both of them. I was thinking maybe in the next day or so.
I did get a new skein of sock yarn today. It's super yummy bamboo, very soft. I can't wait to cast on for that too. I just need to find a good pattern. It's in a gray tone and will look beautiful with just about anything and it's machine wash and dry.
Well off to put kids to bed, clean the kitchen and tidy up. Oh and find a sock pattern.
Happy Knitting!

UnFinished Objects otherwise known as UFO's
Ok here is the run down of what I have in my UFO pile.
Charm Wrap Sweater
Cardigan
Garden wrap Shawl
Dark Mark Scarf
Fingerless Mittens
Malabrigo Scarf for Husband
So that would be 6 projects. I was convinced that I had many many more sitting around here. In all reality what happens is that I have a bunch of things that I want to knit that have not been cast on to any needles. That's a good thing. I managed to get almost all of my stuff organized and up on Ravelry. It really makes a difference for me when I can make notes online and then look back later and see what I was going to use the yarn for.
Right now I have been working on the Malabrigo scarf as it's pretty chilly around here lately. I would like to finish it this weekend so that's my goal. We will be down to Toddler girl for at least 24 hours as Big Girl is going to Nana's house. So that will increase my knitting time greatly. I also want to get the rest of my stash up on Ravelry but I ran out of free space on Flickr.
I have a ton of other projects that I want to add on to my needles. I got a call yesterday from someone that I gave a Christmas gift to. She wants more of the fingerless mitts I made. At least 3-5 more pairs!!! On top of that I have a friend that is due in April with a baby girl and I really need to get to making her some booties and a few hats. Baby stuff knits up super fast just a couple of hours and is a great stash buster for me.
On a side note..... While I was getting all of my skeins and things organized I had them in nice heavy shopping bags. Husband walks in and is just stunned. Wants to know what all of it is and if it's going to start taking over the house. Now I only had out 2 large shopping bags. I had to explain that I was organizing and getting it all put away so that I could have a better handle on what I have. He just stood there speechless. Little does he know that there are at least 5 more bags just like it!!! Not that he really cares as it keeps me occupied and not interrupting him in the evenings as I knit and he watches tv. Just amusing though. Someday I will take him into the spare bedroom/crafting room and show him just how much we have. Some day........
Well off to make some breakfast and then teach........

Organizing and cleaning......
I have been organizing and cleaning today. I decided that I needed to take stock. It was good to see that I really didn't have as many unfinished things as I thought I did. I like to call them UFO's or UnFinished Objects. As it is late I am not sure I can give you an exact count but I will get to that in my next posting.
I took a ton of photos and managed to exceed my free limit on flickr. I then went to Ravelry and uploaded and stashed all of my yarn....well not all. Not yet at least. Most of it. I entered in all of the info and then made notes too. I love that site! Then I also got all of my knitting needles and all 2 of my crochet hooks inventoried too. Oh and I found the rest of my interchangeable needles. This is really a big deal as I thought some of them were goners. I have all of them....wahoo! It is really nice to see on a screen in front of me what I have for what projects. The other nice thing is that I can reference and see what others have made from the yarn I have stashed.
In cleaning today I have gotten rid of at least one or two smaller bags of garbage. I have made a commitment to myself that I am going to rid the house of junk this year. I need to downsize our stuff.......not for any reason in particular but just to downsize. I am doing well so far. This is one of the first steps in doing so. I feel really good about today. I even got some knitting in at Bible Study tonight. Working on husband's Malabrigo scarf still. So the day was great! Good cleaning, good company, good knitting.....what more could I have asked for today!!!
Happy knitting........

Photos as promised
Here is my scarf......I just love it.
Started working on the black one for my husband. I have a feeling that it is going to take a bit longer to knit. No rush now and I have mine so there is no urgency.
I am going to go get a few totes today and spend some time organizing. It seems to be hard to get everything done in one day with two kids running around. We are going to start back up with school today so that's first on the to do list. Then at some point or possibly after they go to sleep this evening I am going to organize and get some things done. I always get more done when the kids are asleep. Amazing how that works.
My goal is to also get my yarn inventoried and up on Ravelry. I just need to take stock and see what's what. So off to get breakfast and some school in.
Happy Knitting.......

Happy New Year!! ( a day late)
Ok so I am a day late in posting......
We didn't even stay up. I knit for a while on my scarf and then had to put it down. We were asleep by 10:15!!!
Scarf got finished yesterday during our adventure to the snow. Pictures coming tomorrow.
Snow adventure didn't go as planned. Toddler Girl decided to pitch a fit and not go out in the snowy wonderland. So I got to sit in the car and listen to her scream and cry. She wouldn't even put her boots on. Oh well she is two after all. It was a long day with two kids and a husband. I did get to knit most of the time though so the day was not a total loss. Matter of fact I finished the scarf last night. Husband likes mine so much he asked if I would make him one. I had purchased some in black just in case....so I cast on for his last night. I have to say it turned out very well and I actually don't mind making another as it is an easy pattern but not boring. It allows me to zone out and knit with dream yarn. I am thinking I want to go get some more of the Malabrigo yarn and knit myself a hat to go with my scarf..........maybe I can make it to the yarn shop tomorrow. I spent quite a while on Ravelry today looking for hat patterns....and think I may have found one. (If you aren't familiar with the site it's basically like MySpace for knitters but cooler.)
On to other things. I am getting the itch to get super organized. I need to find all of my UFO's and take stock. Then I need to get to finishing them. I also want to find all of my needles and put them in one central location. Plan is to clean out the spare bedroom....need to make a few runs to the local charities for donation stuff. I end up with old clothes, toys and such in the spare room and then it just kind of adds up. I figure if I can get an hour in a day then I will be good to go in a week or so. We'll see.
I need to go get my knit on........I haven't touched any yarn all day. Will post pics tomorrow.
