And what do you think I am doing? Knitting, of course!! The kids are in bed and husband is watching a movie or some sort of guy tv show. I plan to go get into my new flannel flamingo jammies and sit in my bed and knit. I am still knitting on my scarf.....and I will be very sad when it's done. The yarn and needles are just a dream together. I know I will have to make a trip to the shop to get more of the yarn and find something else to knit out of it.........maybe a hat for me......hmmmm.
The weekend was nice and relaxing. Kids had a good time and so did we. We plan on heading up to the snow with the girls tomorrow. Going to try the tubing park but don't know how it will go over with Toddler Girl. I am wondering if I can get her snow clothes on her.
On to the name of my blog.....Toddler girl gave me the name. She constantly asks Are You.....
It started with Are you pooping? as we are potty training, then we moved onto Are you Knitting?? because guess what I usually have in my hands. So I figured only appropriate that I call the blog by that name. The address of my blog came from my husband. He was trying to come up with some sort of name for me......so s knitty it is.
Well my yarn is calling me.........off to knit the New Year in. Happy 2008!

My new project.........
So much for saying I needed to finish up my projects........and not start new stuff. Well I cast on a new project last night. I know.......but in my defense....if you know the yarn it's pretty amazing.
I cast on with Malabrigo yarn in the worsted weight pink frost. What more can I say......this yarn with my Serendipity needles. Really the combo is just amazing. I am working on a pattern that I found online and will post pics as soon as I finish it up. Shouldn't be too long.
Now as a plug for my LYS (local yarn shop) I purchased it all there. The Burien Yarn Stash is just an amazing place. One of the owners has become a near and dear friend over the last few years. The service is great and they can special order just about anything. Now they have a new sitting area in the front of the store with great comfy chairs that make you want to sit for hours. The best part for me is that there is a play area for the kids with toys and a tv. Of course the coffee is always on too. What more could a girl ask for? Friends, comfy chairs, a place for the kids, a sympathetic ear, and of course knitting. If you are in the area go check it out....
So that's pretty much all that's going on here.......looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend. We have dinner with some friends from church on Saturday evening. She has craft projects for the kids to do after dinner too so we are assured a great time. I am going to spend most of the weekend taking down the tree and getting all of the Christmas items put away. We also need to get all of the toys out of their boxes and rearrange the living room back to how it usually is. I plan on taking it slow and getting a bunch of knitting in. That is if the kiddos let me.
Next time I post I will have to explain where the url and also name of my blog came from. See you then............happy knitting.

We Survived!
We made it through!
The tooth fairy and Santa had cookies together or so it seems. All of the knitted items have been given with much success. The fingerless mitts that I made seemed to go over well as well as all of the many scarves that I frantically knit. I think I must have given over 10 scarves this year. All out of different yarn and different patterns.
All in all a very good ending to all of that super frantic knitting. Now I am working on the Dark Mark scarf for husband, pirate hat for husband, mitts for husband, slippers or socks for JoAnn, and who knows what else. I need to finish up more projects before more get started or before I add more onto needles. That is going to be my commitment that I try to get one project a month done. I also want to take a few classes this next year. I want to get my crochet skills polished up. I think my tension for crochet is off as I am a picker.
Going to head out into the mall today with toddler girl. Big girl is going to Nana's house to open gifts and spend the night. We went out yesterday but it wasn't very good for finding anything that fit or looked good on me. So we will try a different mall in a nicer area of town today. We'll see how long toddler girl lasts.
Looks like snow is on the menu today........not a big deal. We had a nice dusting on Christmas Day as well which was nice. Looking forward to getting back my house in the next few days so if you don't see a post I am cleaning up after the messes.
Back to the knitting!

Merry Christmas!!
Here is my very first blog posting!!
It's Christmas Eve. I have given up on the idea that all of my knitted items are going to get done in time. I actually did pretty well this year. Better than last. I think I am going to start in January and then stockpile. I plan on getting a tote and notecards for all of the projects for 2008. I was also told by one of my super good friends that I have to finish a sweater this coming year. That's the plan. I really need to finish up a ton of UFO's (UnFinished Objects).
So I just have to go wrap a few more things and then haul it all upstairs. Then I am finished. Breakfast is ready for the oven in the morning (strata). Kids are sleeping, I think. I will double check that before moving things around. Oh and the Tooth Fairy is visiting us for the very first time tonight. She was so very excited!
Well not bad for a first posting.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
